Peter D. Williams – Director

Formerly Executive Officer of campaigning organisation Right To Life and then a freelance Project Consultant, Peter brings over a decade of experience and leadership in the charity sector, as well as critical skills in organisation, research, campaigning and communications. He has worked closely with leading figures in the fields of human rights and ethics. Alongside his non-profit work, Peter has deep practical experience of engagement, volunteer mobilisation and supporter outreach through his commercial consulting practice.

Lucy Marsh – Communications and Public Relations Officer

Lucy is an experienced journalist and communications professional, having spent more than 20 years working on national newspapers and in the marketing and communications sector.

A mum of three teenagers, Lucy is passionate about education and the right of parents to bring their children up as they sit fit without undue state interference.

Stephen Balogh MA MSc – Chair

Stephen Balogh is active in non-profit and public policy organisations that promote the flourishing of society through the thoughtful application of socially responsible, small-c conservative politics.

Following a 30-year business career, he now devotes his time to initiatives aimed at community building from local neighbourhood to international levels, whether by means of social, political or commercial exchange.

 

Philip Crabtree MA – Treasurer

Philip Crabtree has significant experience as a Senior Programme / Project Manager in the Civil Service, specialising in high profile and difficult projects with demanding stakeholders, often with ambiguity and / or a high technical content. He latterly served as a Testing Manager at the Cabinet Office preparing for Brexit, and before then as a Project Manager at the Department of the Environment, Fishing, and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), sorting out the EU-GB-RoI transit policy. He has an MA in Mathematics from Cambridge.

 

Sarah Carter ACIM

Sarah Carter has been an FET Trustee since 2012 and on the Executive Committee since 2009. A Marketing Manager with 15 years experience working in the charity sector, Sarah has also been involved in youth work for 20 years. She is passionate about the importance of appropriate sex and relationship education and has delivered RSE lessons in various forms to youth groups, schools, colleges and university students, including through Lovewise.

Sarah has also worked as a foster carer for young people who have been involved in gang exploitation / at risk of offending, as well as supporting young women who involved in sex trafficking.

 

Martin Doe MSc FIAP (Cmpn) MBCS CITP

Martin Doe was Chair of Trustees for a secondary academy trust from 2014-2022. Martin feels that FET’s evidence-based approach is much needed for arguing a socially conservative viewpoint in environments which are not linked to a particular faith or belief.

Martin is married with three children, two of whom are still in further or higher education. Professionally, Martin is a computer programmer and has a Master’s Degree in Computing for Commerce and Industry from the Open University. He has an Advanced Certificate in Corporate Governance from what is now the The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland.

Ezra Kanyimo MSc

Ezra Kanyimo has over 20 years experience working within various NHS and Social Care settings as a clinician with almost a decade of experience in governance and quality management in the NHS. He holds an MSc in Healthcare Leadership. His experience in these areas are important skills he brings to his Trusteeship at FET.

 

 

Dr Julie Maxwell MB BCh MRCPCH

Dr Julie Maxwell is married to Alistair and they have 3 children (two now adults). She works part-time as a Community Paediatrician as well as working one day a week for Lovewise, a Christian charity providing relationships and sex education from a Christian perspective. She is also involved in youth work and until recently had been serving as a school governor for 15 years. Her personal and professional experience led her to become increasingly concerned about the damage being done by society to family stability and consequently to the wellbeing of children, as well as more recently by the rise in children and young people with gender identity issues and the way this is being managed.

 

Dr Tony Rucinski MA

Dr Tony Rucinski is Director of Supporter Strategy at the Coalition for Marriage (C4M), and a former Chief Executive of the Board of Community Health Councils in Wales. He has a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from the University of South Wales, and was Director of A Brighter Vision, which specialises in motivational leadership and team development, executive coaching, mentoring, strategic review, communication and stakeholder engagement. Dr Rucinski is also Founder of Curing Blindness, a charity which raises money for prevention and treatment of sight conditions, and advised ITV Wales on disability, visual impairment and assistive technology.

Dr Joseph Lim BPharm MRPharmS, PhD

Professor David Paton 

Professor David Paton is Chair of Industrial Economics at Nottingham University Business School and co-editor of the International Journal of the Economics of Business. David’s research interests cover a diverse range of topics including the sport, the post-Brexit economy, gambling policy and health. His work examining the impact of birth control policy on teenage pregnancy has been published in peer reviewed journals such as the Journal of Health Economics, Social Science & Medicine and Demography. David has acted as an advisor to several Government departments including the DTI, National Audit Office and HMRC.

Mrs Mary Russell

Mary has been involved with FET since the early 1990s. Following the opening of the Brook Advisory Centre in Belfast, Mary become part of a group of concerned parents and professionals who had mounted a campaign to inform the public about Brook policies regarding under-age ‘clients’. This group relied on information from FET and organised a lecture in Northern Ireland for then FET director, Valerie Riches. Reading FET’s literature caused Mary to become passionate about exposing the myriad of interconnected agencies and their drive to redefine the traditional family unit. Mary has frequently represented FET in the media on a variety of subjects including abortion, sex education, underage sex, smacking and stay at home mothers.

Mary has been married to her husband Jim for almost 50 years. They have 7 children, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandson. They live in Bangor, Northern Ireland.

Dr Trevor Stammers MA FRCGP DRCOG

Dr Trevor Stammers is a freelance editor and writer. He was formerly an Associate Professor of Bioethics and Medical Law having previously been a general practitioner for 27 years. He is co-editor of The Ethics of Generating Posthuman Persons (Bloomsbury Academic)
