Summer Bulletin Out Now!

Welcome to the Summer Bulletin!

It was fantastic to see so many of our supporters at our annual conference on 21st May, held at the RAF Club in central London. We had a full house with well over 100 attendees, as well as many people watching the livestream.

If you weren’t able to join us in person, you can catch up in this issue with full write ups on the all the speeches. You can also watch the speeches from our keynote speakers David Paton and Calvin Robinson on our YouTube channel.

AGM and Conference

Opening the conference, FET’s chairman Arthur Cornell reminded supporters of the issues that had brought the Trust into existence, how these are still live issues and therefore FET’s evidence-based approach is needed more than ever.

Reports from senior researcher and communications officer

Piers Shepherd, senior researcher, and Lucy Marsh, communications officer, shared the work they have been doing this year engaging in the public debate on the major issues affecting the family and raising the profile and public support for FET.

Conference workshops

This year for the first time FET hosted a series of workshops on major issues. Following the
talks by our guest speakers, attendees were able to take part in one of three breakout sessions
on the topics of influencing schools on sex education, defending free speech and gender
issues – with Stella O’Malley and James Esses leading the workshop on gender issues.

Does mandatory sex education reduce teenage pregnancy

Professor David Paton was the first speaker at the conference, discussing whether mandatory RHSE lessons actually reduce teenage pregnancy. He outlined the evidence showing that compulsory lessons on sex education actually have little impact on reducing the levels of pregnancy in underage girls. You can watch his full speech on our YouTube channel.

Indoctrination due to group-think education

Broadcaster Calvin Robinson spoke about how children are being indoctrinated in schools due to group-think in education, and how important keystones in education such as critical thinking skills and free speech are being eroded. Calvin’s full speech can also be viewed on our YouTube channel.

The Case Against the Sexual Revolution

Lucy Marsh reviewed the new book The Case Against The Sexual Revolution: A New Guide to Sex in the 21st Century by Louise Perry. You can watch an interview with Louise discussing the book with Lucy on our YouTube channel.

If you want to buy a copy of the book you can get it on Amazon for £14.99.

New FET booklet on gender ideology

We have published a new booklet on the dangers of gender ideology and what parents need to know. You can download a copy for free or order a printed copy for just £1.
