Education & Political Activity

FET is an educational charity. We do not support political parties or candidates. Any Government- or Parliamentary-facing activity we may undertake is strictly ancillary to our charitable purpose of advancing education and is proportionate to our resources.  

What we may do
We may submit consultation responses, provide non‑party political briefings, or propose policy options where this helps the public understand the evidence.

What we will not do
We do not endorse parties or candidates. We do not campaign for or against a party platform.

Proportionality and records
We track staff time and costs spent on political activity to ensure it does not dominate our work and remains ancillary to education.

Tone and accuracy
We aim for clarity, civility and accuracy. Where a topic is controversial, we set out the main opposing arguments and the sources used.
